KENYATAAN MEDIA
Semalam, satu permohonan untuk kebenaran bagi memulakan semakan kehakiman telah difailkan di Mahkamah Tinggi Kuala Lumpur oleh Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Antara relif yang dipohon di dalam permohonan tersebut adalah satu deklarasi dari Mahkamah bahawa nasihat Perdana Menteri kepada KDYMM SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong untuk menggantung Parlimen dalam tempoh darurat yang diisytiharkan baru-baru ini adalah bertentangan undang-undang dan tidak mengikut Perlembagaan Persekutuan.
Permohonan tersebut difailkan oleh Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim sebagai pemohon (selaku Ketua Pembangkang Dewan Rakyat) melalui Tetuan Karpal Singh & Co. Responden-responden yang dinamakan adalah Perdana Menteri dan Kerajaan Malaysia.
Perlu ditekankan di sini bahawa apa yang dicabar dalam permohonan tersebut bukannya pengisytiharan darurat, tetapi keputusan Perdana Menteri (melalui Jemaah Menteri) untuk menasihati KDYMM SPB Yang di Pertuan Agong untuk meluluskan kaedah 14 Ordinan Darurat (Kuasa-Kuasa Perlu) 2021 yang menggantung persidangan Parlimen dalam tempoh darurat tersebut. Nasihat Perdana Menteri tersebut adalah dikatakan bertentangan undang-undang.
Diharapkan satu tarikh pendengaran permohonan tersebut dapat ditetapkan secepat mungkin.
